My NaNoWriMo participation or I AM SO EXCITED

It's only been a few weeks since I first heard about NaNoWriMo, but I'm already super excited to be part of it. For those who, like me, have never heard of NaNoWriMo before, this is an event by a community that wants to support creative people on their way. They provide a foundation for a community, the opportunity to keep an eye on your progress and organize events to motivate. In addition, they teach writing courses and also work on local projects in America. If you want to know more, you can take a look at their page:

In November there is an event in which you should write 50,000 words in a month. It is not important whether you have finished a book in the end or only halfway, but rather to get into continuous work. Of course, it's more fun not to face this challenge alone. The website offers opportunities to socialize or, as I did, you just join a group. My group is great. Everyone is already motivated and we are looking forward to the joint preparations in October and the challenge in November. In general, I can only recommend finding a group that you feel comfortable with and that motivates each other, reads texts and talks about writing. I found my group on Twitter, but the options are tons. You just have to try.

I've already picked out a project that I want to work on during this time. In short, it is a story about a girl of 17 years who was born with the ability to see ghosts. She has already accepted her powers and it is more about which path her life should take after a traumatic experience that she had when she was 12 and with the loss of her mentor. The main theme of the story is to form your own opinion, to stand by your own convictions and to come to terms with the past.

So what's my plan?

October will be marked primarily by preparations. Most of all, I will write "Books and Life" to have enough material to put online, including translation. I will try to do the writing exercises every week, but I cannot guarantee that I will be able to do this in November. In an emergency I'll have to make up for them afterwards. I also want to write another short story beforehand. I have a lot to do with the preparations for "Medium" and hope that I will manage all of it. I will post on my Patreon page about my progress in my planning and the details.

I'm curious to see how it will all develop and let's see, maybe after NaNo I can actually present a first version for "Medium".

Until then

Your Vivien
