Stray Witch by Eva Alton

Stray Witch is a story about Alba, a mother of two who is at a difficult point in their marriage. Her abusive husband throw the announcement of a divorce and threatened to take the children away in front of her. In this situation she suddenly a world in which vampires exist reveals itself to her. And they claim that she is a witch and that she should work for them?

Alba reaches for the straw, not really knowing what she is getting into. While she tries to protect her children from her husband, learn about her heritage and cope with the fact that she lives among vampires, there is also Clarence. Her vampire guardian has a high level of attraction on her and this doesn't seem to be all one-sided. But what is hidden behind the innocent-looking face? Is Alba even in danger?

The book was pleasant to read and, after some initial difficulties, drew me into its world. I would have liked the characters to have had a little more room to get to know them before Alba's life was turned upside down.

I also thought it was a shame that you never really had an idea of all the vampires, which puzzled me a little about how big the group actually is. In addition, some vampires have come very short, which has reduced their influence on the story a little.

The relationship between Clarence and Alba was wonderfully written and there was torn between whether it was good enough for her to develop feelings for a vampire.

The world is structured in an interesting way, if I hope that the continuation will go a little more in depth.

All in all, it was an exciting and entertaining time I spent with this book and I will certainly continue delving into the series.
